Write for Us

AltcoinReporter is an independent cryptocurrency news and analysis publication covering Bitcoin, Ethereum, altcoins, DeFi, NFTs, and blockchain technology. We are always looking for talented writers who understand crypto and can communicate clearly to help shape our editorial voice.

If you are a journalist, analyst, developer, trader, researcher, or passionate crypto enthusiast with something worthwhile to say, we want to hear from you.

What We Offer Contributors

  • Byline and author page on AltcoinReporter, a growing independent crypto publication
  • Dofollow backlink in your author bio to your website, portfolio, LinkedIn, or X profile
  • Editorial feedback from our team to help sharpen your work
  • Published exposure to our growing audience of crypto readers, traders, and investors
  • Portfolio-quality clips you can use to build your writing career in crypto and finance

Contributions are currently unpaid. We are a bootstrapped independent publication focused on growing quality content and reader trust. For established writers with a track record, paid opportunities may open up in the future.

What We Are Looking For

We welcome submissions across all our coverage areas:

  • Bitcoin and Ethereum news and analysis — price movements, ETF flows, upgrades, institutional adoption
  • Altcoin coverage — project deep dives, token launches, ecosystem analysis
  • DeFi — protocol analysis, yield strategies, governance, exploits
  • NFTs and Web3 — marketplace trends, collection analysis, gaming, digital identity
  • Market analysis — on-chain data, technical analysis, macro context
  • Regulation and policy — SEC decisions, international regulatory frameworks, tax law
  • Exchange and wallet reviews — detailed comparisons, security analysis, fee breakdowns
  • Educational guides — clear explainers on complex crypto concepts for beginners and intermediates
  • Opinion and commentary — well-reasoned takes on industry developments

Editorial Standards

We hold contributor work to the same standards as our staff coverage. Submissions must be:

  • 100% original and exclusive to AltcoinReporter. We do not accept content published elsewhere, including your own blog.
  • Fact-checked with primary sources linked where possible. On-chain data, official statements, SEC filings, and credible reporting are acceptable sources.
  • Well-written in clear, accessible English. We edit for style but cannot rewrite poorly constructed pieces.
  • Free of hype and promotion. We do not publish shilling, price predictions dressed as analysis, or thinly disguised advertising.
  • Properly attributed. Plagiarism, including AI-generated content passed off as original thinking, results in an immediate permanent ban.
  • Relevant to crypto. We do not cover unrelated finance, tech, or general news.

What We Do Not Accept

  • Paid promotional content disguised as editorial (for sponsored content, see our advertising page)
  • Articles with affiliate links, referral codes, or promotional CTAs
  • Generic listicles with no original insight (“Top 10 Crypto Projects of 2026”)
  • Price predictions presented as certainties
  • Content about projects you personally hold without clear disclosure
  • Rewrites or light paraphrasing of other publications’ reporting
  • AI-generated content without significant original human analysis and editing
  • Submissions under multiple pen names or from multiple accounts

Article Length and Format

We do not enforce strict word counts. Quality matters more than length. As a general guide:

  • News and commentary: 600 to 1,200 words typically
  • Analysis and deep dives: 1,200 to 2,500 words typically
  • Reviews and guides: 1,500 to 3,000 words typically

Good writing goes as long as it needs to and no longer. A tight 800 word analysis beats a padded 2,000 word one every time.

All submissions should include:

  • A compelling headline
  • Clear H2 and H3 subheadings breaking up the article
  • Links to primary sources for factual claims
  • A short author bio (50 to 100 words) with the link you want in your byline
  • A suggested category from our coverage areas

How to Submit

Send your pitch or completed draft to info@altcoinreporter.com with the subject line “Contributor Submission”.

Include the following in your email:

  • Your pitch or draft — complete drafts are preferred. Pitches should include a headline, 2-3 paragraph summary, and your angle
  • A short bio (50 to 100 words) including your crypto background and expertise
  • The URL you want in your author bio (website, LinkedIn, X profile)
  • Links to 1-3 previous writing samples if you have them (not required for first-time writers)
  • Disclosure of any cryptocurrency holdings relevant to your article topic

Our Review Process

We review every submission and respond within 7 business days. Responses fall into three categories:

  • Accepted — we will edit and schedule for publication, typically within 2 weeks
  • Accepted with revisions — we will provide specific feedback and publish once addressed
  • Declined — we will explain why briefly, though we cannot offer detailed critiques

Acceptance is at the sole discretion of the AltcoinReporter editorial team. We reserve the right to edit, rewrite, or decline any submission. By submitting, you grant AltcoinReporter permission to edit and publish your work under your byline.

Rights and Payment

Contributors retain copyright to their work but grant AltcoinReporter exclusive publication rights for 90 days from the date of publication. After 90 days, you are free to republish the work elsewhere with a credit line linking back to the original AltcoinReporter article.

Contributions are currently unpaid. Contributors receive the benefits listed above rather than monetary compensation.

Disclosure Requirements

Crypto is rife with conflicts of interest. If you hold tokens, have received grants or bounties from projects, or have any material financial relationship with any entity discussed in your article, you must disclose this in writing when submitting. We may include a disclosure note at the bottom of the published article.

Failure to disclose material conflicts of interest will result in retraction of the article and a permanent ban from further contributions.
