U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs gave back all of their 2026 inflows this week. The funds lost a net $1.28 billion from Nov. 2 to Nov. 6, their worst week since late June, leaving them about $828 million in the red for the year by Farside Investors’ daily flow data. A little over a week ago, the same funds were sitting on roughly $1.1 billion of net inflows for the year.

Four days of outflows, one day of buying

Only one session was positive. According to Farside, the funds lost $398.6 million on Monday and $115.6 million on Tuesday, took in $74.6 million on Wednesday, then shed $430.2 million on Thursday and $411.9 million on Friday. Net, that comes to $1,281.7 million.

The last week that was worse ended June 26, when the funds lost about $1.79 billion. The Block, which tracks the same funds through SoSoValue, put this week seventh on the list of the largest weekly outflows since the products launched in January 2024. SoSoValue’s year-to-date figure is a bit worse than Farside’s at $914.1 million. Both data sets agree that the funds are now negative for 2026.

Prices fell alongside the flows. Bitcoin dropped 5.6% on Thursday during a selloff in technology stocks, The Block reported, and on Friday the U.S. jobs report showed 165,000 jobs added in October, well above the roughly 65,000 that economists expected. CoinDesk said the strong reading puts a December Fed rate hike in play. Bitcoin traded around $75,800 on Saturday, according to CoinGecko.

IBIT did most of the selling

BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) had net outflows on all five days, totaling about $1.21 billion for the week. That includes $403 million on Friday, which The Block said was about 88% of the day’s gross outflows. Counting the previous Friday, IBIT has now had six straight losing sessions and roughly $1.44 billion in withdrawals.

The fund is still well ahead for the year, though. Farside’s figures show IBIT with about $3.0 billion in 2026 net inflows even after this run. The year’s losses are concentrated elsewhere. Grayscale’s GBTC has lost about $2.86 billion in 2026, Fidelity’s FBTC about $1.85 billion and Ark and 21Shares’ ARKB about $690 million.

Two low-fee funds have moved the other way. Grayscale’s Bitcoin Mini Trust (BTC) has taken in about $965 million this year. The Morgan Stanley Bitcoin Trust (MSBT), which only began trading on April 8, has added about $814 million. Fidelity’s flows have also swung sharply day to day: FBTC lost $199.9 million on Thursday and then took in $42.8 million on Friday.

A year that never found its footing

For a sense of scale, Farside’s data shows U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs took in about $21.3 billion in net inflows over 2025. This year has gone back and forth. Cumulative 2026 flows peaked at about $3.2 billion on May 6, then a heavy May and a June outflow of about $4.5 billion pushed the funds roughly $5.7 billion into the red by mid-July. August and September brought them back, with $3.5 billion and $2.6 billion of net inflows, and the year-to-date total turned positive again on Sept. 22.

It took six trading sessions to erase most of that recovery. The funds lost $643.2 million on Oct. 30, which was the day after the Binance hack and the largest single-day exit in four months. Combined with this week’s withdrawals, roughly $1.9 billion has left since Oct. 29, when the year-to-date total stood at about $1.1 billion. AltcoinReporter covered the first $1 billion of that run on Nov. 3. The rest followed later in the week.

The Block put the total value of bitcoin held by the 12 funds at $95.9 billion, about 6.3% of bitcoin’s market capitalization. IBIT held $60.3 billion in net assets against $65.1 billion of cumulative inflows, which suggests that, in aggregate, the money put into the fund is currently worth less than it cost.

Ether, Solana and HYPE funds are bleeding too

The selling went beyond bitcoin. Farside’s ether ETF tally shows $365.2 million in net outflows for the week, the sixth negative week in a row, and about $396 million of outflows for 2026. Wednesday’s $53 million inflow was the only positive day. The Block, using SoSoValue data, reported that spot Solana ETFs lost $26.3 million and the three Hyperliquid ETFs $15.6 million. For both, it was a fifth straight weekly outflow, the longest streaks since each product type launched.

What to watch next week

The flow data will show whether this was a quick reset after the post-election and tech selloff, or the start of a longer run of selling like the one in May and June. U.S. inflation figures are due next week, and they could matter as much as the jobs report did. IBIT is the number to watch. A couple of strong inflow days there would shrink the year-to-date deficit, while another $400 million day would push it past $1 billion on Farside’s count.
