Binance said on Sunday that withdrawals had been re-enabled for Hyperliquid’s HYPE and Aptos’ APT, two of six assets it had promised on Friday to bring back by the end of next week. About 70 minutes after that update, the exchange’s own network status data still showed HYPE withdrawals paused, while APT withdrawals were open. The gap matters for anyone waiting to move HYPE off the exchange, and it shows how much of the post-hack recovery is still unfinished.
What Binance announced
The exchange’s withdrawal update on Sunday listed HYPE and APT as “New” and repeated part of the list of Ethereum- and Solana-network tokens restored on Nov. 3, including LINK, ENA, ONDO, JUP, BONK and RENDER. Binance’s recovery updates for Nov. 5 and Nov. 6 scheduled further batches, covering tokens such as UNI, AAVE and LDO on Ethereum and USDE and PENDLE on BNB Smart Chain. Co-CEO Yi He shared Sunday’s list shortly afterwards.
The update did not change Binance’s wording on pace. “We will continue to restore additional assets and networks in phases as security checks are completed,” the exchange said.
What the network status data showed
A check of the data behind Binance’s network status page at about 10:03 UTC, roughly 70 minutes after the post, showed withdrawals enabled for APT on the Aptos network. HYPE on its native network was marked as paused, with the notice: “The network is currently experiencing issues, withdrawals have been paused to prevent assets getting stuck in processing and/or loss of funds.” HYPE deposits were open. The same status appeared on further checks through 10:07 UTC.
It is not clear from the data whether HYPE withdrawals opened briefly and were then halted, or had not yet gone live. Binance has not commented publicly on the discrepancy. Several users replying to the exchange’s post said they still could not withdraw HYPE. AltcoinReporter did not find an outage notice on Hyperliquid’s official X account in the same period.
The rest of Binance’s Nov. 6 list is still pending
HYPE and APT were two of six assets Binance named on Friday. The exchange said then that it was “working to reopen withdrawals for HYPE, INJ, APT, PLASMA, NEAR, LTC by end of next week.” It added that it aimed to reopen “all tokens on networks that are already restored (including BSC, ETH, MATIC, ARB, POL, OP, etc.) by then.”
The status data showed that Injective, NEAR and Litecoin withdrawals on their native networks were still paused for “wallet maintenance.” BEP-20 versions of INJ, NEAR and LTC on BNB Smart Chain could be withdrawn. Plasma’s XPL was paused on both its native network and BNB Smart Chain. USDT and USDC on Aptos were also paused. The reason given was that withdrawals “are temporarily halted while Binance replenishes the hot wallet.”
The bigger job is the second half of that promise. Counting network-asset pairs in the same snapshot, BNB Smart Chain had 192 open for withdrawal and 147 paused for maintenance or hot-wallet replenishment. Ethereum had 128 open and 124 paused for those reasons. Both counts leave out pairs Binance labels “not supported.” Across all networks, 181 pairs carried the hot-wallet replenishment notice. The figures are a snapshot of status labels, not a measure of user balances.
Why the restoration is going asset by asset
Binance began reopening withdrawals on Nov. 1, starting with Bitcoin and then 15 networks and assets in its first phase. AltcoinReporter covered that first phase when it began. That followed the Oct. 29 theft, which the exchange later traced to a fake job interview and put at $6.34 billion.
In its Nov. 4 recovery update, Binance said it had replenished about 98% of the affected amount and was buying the rest through market and OTC channels. It warned that “purchases for the remaining 2% are expected to be slower because these tokens are less liquid.” It also repeated that it would cover the stolen funds itself, “not our users,” and said a new proof-of-reserves snapshot covered 44 tokens, up from 10. Many of the tokens now carrying the hot-wallet replenishment notice are mid- and small-cap assets, though the list also includes larger names such as ARB on Ethereum and POL on Polygon. Binance has not said whether those notices are tied to the rebuying.
What to watch
The first test is whether HYPE’s status flips to open and stays there. After that, the question is whether INJ, NEAR, LTC and XPL return on their native networks before the end of next week, and how many of the paused BNB Smart Chain and Ethereum tokens are back by then. Users checking a specific token should look at the withdrawal page for their exact network. In this rollout, the same asset can be open on one chain and closed on another.
